R&B TIMBER GROUP: THE HARDPOLE GUARANTEE

In 2010, R&B Timber Group launched its first brand - HardPole. This innovative marque sets the standard for our treated wood products and is a guarantee of craftsmanship, longevity, and quality.

The HardPole brand is an abbreviation for Harding, the small southern KwaZulu-Natal town where the R&B Timber Group operates. Additionally, the term also reflects the fact that HardPole products are produced from hardwoods.

HardPole products include applications such as small fencing poles to building poles and 14-metre transmission poles.

What is the R&B Timber Group HardPole Mark of Quality?

To help our customers ensure that they are receiving the best product possible, we have developed the HardPoleT Mark of Quality. This distinctive mark differentiates our treated poles in a market saturated with low-quality poles.

All HardPole products are marked with a yellow plastic rosette at either end as a guarantee of quality and are made from A-grade raw material selected for treatment with no compromise on diameter classes.

Today, the distinctive yellow HardPole tag is attached to every pole exiting the gates at both Harding Treated Timbers and Natal Forest Products, and each HardPole product benefits from an industry-leading 20-year guarantee.

What is the HardPole brand backed by?

The HardPole brand represents the best quality product in the industry by adhering to correct treatment processes, backed by ACT (African Certification & Testing).

At R&B Group, we pride ourselves on our reputation for delivering the highest quality product in our industry.

It is this reputation that has lead us to become the largest pole manufacturer in South Africa, where clients such as Eskom and TANESCO continue to rely on our products.

What are the benefits of using the HardPole brand?

HardPole products are pressure-treated and are designed to last in challenging environments as well as offer resistance against common pests and infestations.

Among these benefits, HardPole products offer moisture and insect resistance, are fire retardant, and benefit from greater longevity than the closest market competitor.

Interior use e.g. Beams, Roof trusses

Treated interior beams and roof trusses can secure structures and prevent infestation by pests such as insects.

Exterior above ground e.g Laths, Droppers, Fencing Rails

Above-ground applications such as fencing rails are vital to not only sure aesthetic appeal but further durability in inclement weather.

Exterior ground contact e.g Fencing, Building, Agriculture

HardPole products in ground-contact roles such as fencing applications can help protect vital agricultural installations such as netting.

Freshwater contact e.g Irrigation, Jetties, Walkways

For continuous freshwater or marine water contact, pressure-treated wood leverages natural biocides, which will destroy fungal or bacteria infestations and prevent their future growth.
