Poles are selected for treatment after being graded by qualified graders. Once the pole moisture content has been verified they are ready for treatment.

All Natal Forest Products poles carry the South African National Standards mark of approval. The plant is ISO 9001:2009 certified. The process is constantly monitors by S.A.T.A.S. inspectors. (S.A.T.A.S. Specification 457/1994 and 754/1994).

The creosote/CCA used is SATAS approved. (S.A.T.A.S. Specification 538/9).
